ERROR MESSAGE 0X800CCC0F
Hello Guys!
Since a few days I receive the ERROR Message 0X800CCC0F by sending
E-mails (Outbox) with OE6 to all POP3 Servers (SMTP) while the Inbox
is still working fine.
Does anybody knows what's the cause and how to fix the bug?
For any help, suggestions and support, thanks in advance!
Warm regards!
Tom

In my experience, using Norton AntiSpam or Norton AntiVirus to check email,
whether incoming or outgoing, can cause mail server to timeout, producing
this message.
Turning off AntiSpam on incoming resolved problem if AntiVirus is also off.
Leaving Norton Virus AutoProtect on is OK.
This may be an artifact of small memory (128 MB) and slow machine (Pentium
III 500 Mz).
If you have the option of setting timeout value on server to a longer value,
I would do that first.
Hope this helps.

I don't like just the error number. Makes extra work for me. Just click the
mouse in the message window and the entire error message is highlighted.
Right click brings up "copy" button. Click the button, paste in the
message, and, voila!...
The connection to the server has failed. Account: 'None', Server:
'mail.gmx.net', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error:
10060, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E
That said, running a Google search:

As David says, email anti virus scanning. I don't use it. Too much trouble,
not enough benefit. The on access virus scanner would catch it if you tried
to do anything, anyway. Maybe even when you tried to delete it. A regular
anti virus on demand scan will just find it when it encounters the email.

1. Turn off email scanning in your anti-virus. It provides no added
protection.
2. Turn off any anti-spam program.
