My Outlook is password protected but people can still get to my
messages via Outlook Express. How do I stop them?

Obviously if you also have your email set up in Outlook express as well. If you or someone else sets up your email account in Outlook express and when they open OE it will say that OE is not your default email handler.Would you like to make OE your default email client. All that a person need to do is to say Yes. He will have opened all your mail that is in OL and especially if you had Leave on Server selected or if someone decides to import all your mail settings including folders. Anyway a few ways to go about it. Why not setup your OS with a password and others given log on as other users.

How do I un-set it up in OE? Can I just remove the Account details and
delete the messages and address book?

If you don't intend to use Outlook Express for e-mail, then do that.

Note that might be set to use the Outlook contacts for it's address book. In that case,
do NOT delete contacts in OE as it will affect Outlook. Instead set OE to Not share. For
more on this, see:

OL98: (IMO) How Do I Share Information Between Outlook and OE
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=179505
OL2000: (IMO) How Do I Share Information Between Outlook and OE

To share Contacts between Outlook and Outlook Express

As for deleting messages in OE, do that IF you are using a POP3 mail account and the
messages you want are in Outlook. If it is an IMAP or HTTP (Hotmail) account, do NOT
delete the messages in OE. Just delete the Account. With IMAP and HTTP, messages are
stored on the server. IF you delete a message in OE it deletes the server message.

If a POP3 account, before deleting any messages, delete the account in Tools, Accounts,
Mail First.
