I am getting hit hard by a particular .com address with tons of spam and
can't seem to stop it. I have adjusted Outlook settings to try and stop it
but it doesn't seem to work. It's always some phoney name @steelemark.com. Is
they a way to block any and all steelemark.com mail from ever even showing
up?

Hi there,

You could create a rule which will delete all mail coming from
steelemark.com. Look under Tools | Message Rules.

Did you configure it to

a. Delete from Server
b. Stop processing more rules?

New Mail Rule:

1. Select the Conditions for your rule:
Where the From line contains people: "@steelmark.com"

2. Select the Actions for your rule:
Delete it from server

3. & 4. are optional. Rule should be at the end, or in the final grouping
of similar rules.

If you ever gain a legitimate contact at "steelmark.com", that rule will
need to be changed. MSOE is light on useful rule possibilities; filtering
only on "To:", "Cc:", "From:", and "Subject:". Some other factors which are
not useful against spam. It can't read any other header lines than those,
though other header lines are more useful.

A better solution would be one of these filtering proxies:

K9: http://www.keir.net/k9.html
POPFile: http://popfile.sourceforge.net/

K9 is probably better as a spam-only solution; it was designed specifically
as an antispam solution. POPFile, which I have used, is a mail
classification program, of which classifying email as either spam, or
"goodmail", is a small part of its capabilities. But this tends to slow it
down somewhat. Very useful if you are trying to sort to users of a single
mailbox with alias email addresses.
