Hello all,
I have just noticed that my sent box does not keep a copy of my emails sent
out. I have checked the tools-options-send and it is checked to keep a copy
in the "sent box".
Any ideas on why it does not keep a copy?
I have spyware software that I run once a week and keep the computer virus
dat files up to date.
Thanks,
Dave-

Your Sent Items folder may be corrupted. Determine the location of your
message store folder (Tools/Options/Maintenance, then Store Folder button)
and write it down. Then close Outlook Express. Open Windows Explorer,
navigate to the Store folder, find "Sent Items.dbx" and delete it. A new,
uncorrupted Sent Items folder will be created when you open Outlook Express
and all should then be well again.

Expanding on Jim's post and to avoid the problem in future:
- Don't use Inbox or Sent Items to archive messages. Move them to local
folders created for this purpose.
- Empty Deleted Items folder daily.
- Disable Background Compacting [N/A in SP2] and frequently perform a manual
compact of all OE folders while "working offline". More at
http://www.insideoe.com/files/maintain.htm.
- Your anti-virus application's email scanning feature can also cause such
corruption. Disable it. It provides no additional protection.

Hi there,
Also expanding on Jim's post, make sure you're viewing "all" messages, not
just "unread" ones. Check on the View menu.
