No OE Icons

I do not have any icons for Outlook Express. I looked in c:\program
files\outlook express and only see one executable: wab.exe. I can launch OE
from a web site that has links to opening a newsgroup using a reader but I
don't know where it's launching from.

Thank you for any help.

Check in Outlook Express menu, View/Layout and make sure there is a
checkmark in the box for "Toolbar." The executable for Outlook Express is
msimn.exe and it's located in the "C:\Program Files\Outlook Express" folder.

Please deliver feedback to the newsgroup, so that others can be helped. No
one gets paid to help here, and the response rate from those that are helped
is less than 4-5%. If that were how medical advancements were made we would
all have died years ago. Thanks.

Thank you for the quick response. Unfortunately, that executable is not in
that folder.

Additionally, I searched for MSIMN.exe and only found it in the i386 folder
that has the WinXP cd's contents and a service pack folder.

Hi Charles,

The executable file for OE is msimn.exe. Do a search for that file.

Aye, aye, aye. Never mind. MSIMN.exe was hidden because it is apparently a
system file.

Thank you again for your help.

Thank you for your response.

As I originally wrote, I could not see that file in the folder it should
have been in.

However, I since discovered that it is treated as a system file and my
folder settings was hiding it. That setting has been corrected.

Glad to hear you found the executable. Now you can create a shortcut to it
and place it on your Start button or drag it to the Quick Launch bar and all
should be well. Thanks for the feedback.
