I have been using a programme called Outlook Express Quick Backup
http://insideoe.tomsterdam.com/ found here.

But all I get are file system error 1026 or, unable to copy or runtime error
'76' Path not found.
Is anyone familiar with the above or could you recommend one that might work
for me.

Thanks,
Will.

The OE Quick Backup has been pulled by its author. However, another
functional program, by the same author, that does a backup is available from
this link:

Please deliver feedback to the newsgroup, so that others can be helped. No
one gets paid to help here, and the response rate from those that are helped
is less than 4-5%. If that were how medical advancements were made we would
all have died years ago. Thanks.

Is OE Freebie Back Up going to be put back online? I have it and it works
fine. What were the problems with it?

It's a product in development, and the author (Majik) decided to pull it
until such time as he could put some finishing touches to it. It may come
back at some later date.

Path not found means the backup path can't be found.

START | Run
type in Regedit and press ENTER
Press the + sign next to HKEY_CURRENT_USER
Press the + sign next to Software
Click on OEBackup subkey

Double click on the OEBackup value in the right window pane and set the path
to the folder you want to back up the files to.
One other person had the same results and editing it via the registry solved
it.

No problems, it's just ugly and nobody likes an ugly program.

There are some things I want to add to it as time permits. To do so, I'll
have to make some major changes and that will take a bit of time which I
don't have much of at the moment.

Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. It gets the job done and that's
what's important to me.

I look forward to when you do have time and upgrade it and thank you for
what you've done so far.

I have done what you said, but I'm getting identical problems on both PC's.
The one I'm backing up and the other I'm restoring to.
I'm also getting errors such as: "Cannot import IAM.reg. Error opening file.
Disk or system error"
"Cannot import all identities.reg", & "Cannot import AddressBook.reg.

Will.

Never heard of this before. email me a copy of the all identies.reg and
addressbook.reg files.

For the email address, remove .oops and replace it with .com

NB: "Will" has a similar thread going in Win98 OE newsgroup. He is using OE
