catchup newsgroups

I started having to "catchup" with several newsgroups last week. I'm
checking and marking as read every day but several newsgroups still need to
be right-clicked to catchup. What gives? This is very annoying!

It may be that you are connecting to a news server that employs a "farm" of
servers and as such, not all such servers are "synched" and you will
continue to get notification of "ghost" messages. Nothing you can do about
it.

Please deliver feedback to the newsgroup, so that others can be helped. No
one gets paid to help here, and the response rate from those that are helped
is less than 4-5%. If that were how medical advancements were made we would
all have died years ago. Thanks.

If you connect to this newsgroup using the MS newsserver instead of the one
your ISP provides (click on this link:
news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie6_outlookexpress),
does the problem persist?
