Can't Insert Pictures in EMail

DRARetired

When I attempt to "Insert" a "Picture..." when constructing an email message,
the picture dialog flashes and then disappears. I check all my security
setting in OE6, but I can't see anything.

I can send the picture as an attachment.

Anyone have any ideas?

mail sending format in "plain text" instead of HTML?

No. It's HTML.

Your current Identity may be damaged, especially if its the default Main
Identity. Try one or more of your accounts in a new Named Identity
(File>Identities>Add new identity). Assuming all is well, import messages
from the old Identity before deleting it (File>Identities>Manage
Identities).

To avoid such corruption in future:

Don't use Inbox or Sent Items to archive messages. Move them to local
folders created for this purpose.

Empty Deleted Items folder daily.

Disable Background Compacting [N/A in SP2] and frequently perform a manual
compact of all OE folders while "working offline". More at
http://insideoe.tomsterdam.com/files/maintain.htm.

Your anti-virus application's email scanning feature can also cause such
corruption. Disable it. It provides no additional protection.

Windows version?

Any difference if you disable your anti-virus application before attempting
to insert a pic into an HTML message?

Did that. No change.

The "Insert picture" dialog flashes up then disappears.

He is using plain text utf-8 . I believe you can only include pictures in
HTML. Correct?

He is posting via the web interface and not via OE. Otherwise we would
have known what version of MSOE he is using?
He also said in his second post that he was using HTML.

It was "Motive SmartBridge".

I removed it and, now, I can insert pictures, again.
