Hi kjohnson,

The Sent Items folder is likely corrupted. The Sent Items.dbx file can be
moved to another (new) folder if you want to try importing or salvaging
messages in the folder using a 3rd-party tool. Delete the Sent Items.dbx
file. If the Outbox folder is also a problem the corresponding DBX file can
also be deleted from the message store folder.

These are general instructions. Use them to locate the Sent Items.dbx file
and, if necessary, the Outbox.dbx file.

To resolve this behavior, remove the damaged .dbx file:

1. Click Start, point to Programs, point to Accessories, and then click
Windows Explorer.
2. In Windows Explorer, on the Tools menu, point to Find, and then click
Files or Folders.
3. You may need to include hidden files and folders (Windows 2000 and XP).
4. Type Outbox.dbx in the Named box, and then click Find Now.
5. Right-click the file name, and then click Rename.
6. Rename the file to Outbox.old.

Note that deleting a .dbx file also deletes any e-mail messages or other
data in the folder. The Store folder can be found in Tools, Options,
Maintenance tab…Store Folder. The text for the path can be copied using a
right-click and then entered in the Start, Run box. OK to open the Store
folder. Each identity has its own Store folder. Disregard this method if
Outlook Express cannot be opened.

Restart Outlook Express.

If you still receive the error message, repeat these steps to rename or
delete the Sent Items.dbx file and the Inbox.dbx file.

Open the Store Folder

Close Outlook Express before renaming or deleting a DBX file.

Instead of using search the store folder can be opened directly. Each
identity has its own store folder.

a.. In Outlook Express click on Tools, Options, Maintenance tab...Store
Folder.
b.. Place the cursor at the left of the text of the path to the folder.
c.. Drag the cursor to the right until the text scrolls to the end.
d.. Right-click on the text and choose Copy.
e.. In the Start, Run box right-click Paste. Click OK to open the store
folder.
f.. Close Outlook Express before working with the message store files.

An even easier method when opening that page is to use the Tab to
highlight the folder location, then Ctrl+C and close OE, then use Start/Run
and Ctrl+V. Same caveat about hidden files applies but can be easily
modified in Explorer by using Tools/Folder Options.
