Jibberish

In NG's, some messages are in jibberish, (symbols, #'s, letters). Is there a
way to correct this?

That's what happens if you try to view graphics when your newsreader is set
to read messages in plain text.

Ted...thanks for responding, but the "plain text" box is unchecked. Any
other suggestions?

Yeah, it's probably one part of a multipart message. Does it have something
in the subject line like (1/5) (2/5) and so on? You're only seeing part
of the message and would have to download all parts of the message then
combine and decode it to have the complete contents.

Configure your reader to use the character set of the original post. If
your reader is configured to a different character set than the poster
used, it will display using the characters which most closely match the
numeric code of the default character set.
