Well, XP SP2 was installed many months ago. At least 4 or maybe 6 months
ago. Shortly after it came out.

This OE problem just started a few days ago. Another peculiar thing, shortly
after starting up the PC, the OE identity log on screen pops up. To the
default identity. One might thing its a virus trying to send emails but the
PC has been scanned and rescanned with Norton 2005 Antivirus with very
latest updates. And today, also downloaded the latest MS patch with the
malicious worm checker.

Will try to reload the OE6 cumulative update and see what happens
