Workaround: http://www.insideoe.com/tips/forceid.htm

If one of the identities is the default Main Identity, replace it with a
Named Identity. Import folders from the old identity before deleting it.

First I tried changing both the IE and OE IsInstalled DWORDs to zero's, I
still couldnt reinstall IE6 SP1. Told me a newer version was detected.

Started to uninstalled XP SP2 and then saw the note about doing a system
recovery back to a date prior to the original SP2 install. Well my system
restore points go back 90 days so I couldn't go back far enough. Wouldn't
have done this anyway, that's far too much of a nuisance.

So I tried the workaround below and found that it suits my needs.
Thanks for your help.
Too bad I couldn't do a proper repair of OE6 but someday a SP2 for IE6 will
probably come along and solve the problem properly.
