IE 6.0 drops connection

IF IE 6.0 sits inactive for more than about 10 minutes, it drops the internet
connection. If I open a new window it says the page cannot be displayed. The
only thing that works is rebooting my computer. I use DSL, and my modem shows
a connection. Any ideas would be great.
Thanks

Internet Explorer does not 'drop a connection' since it doesn't make the
connection. Contact your ISP for assistance. If you believe your modem
incorrectly shows that you are connected to the internet when you are not,
contact your ISP (if you lease the modem) or the manufacturer's technical
support (if you own the modem.)
