I have a DSL connection. When I plug the lan cable in everything looks good.
The icon says "connected." I can even pig successfully from the command
line. Dialup works too. But I can't set up the Broadband connection. I'm
doing it the sane way I have for other computers (from tools>internet
options> setup > then I choose "broadband in the New Connection Wizard.
What's wrong?

You shouldn't have to do anything. Either you have a connection or you
don't.

Steve,

You may have a winsock corruption.

Download, unzip and run this fix:

http://downloads.subratam.org/WinsockFix.zip

Reboot when finished and test.
