Can someone please explain to me how to use my PC as a FTP server with NTL
Home in the UK. I also have a Linksys BEFSR 41 router too so that will need
configuring correctly.

I have installed the FTP services on Windows XP and it doesnt work.

Cheers

Paul

1. Check with your ISP - they may not permit you to have an FTP server
on their bandwidth.

2. You will need to give the machine acting as your FTP server a static
IP address. Since you are behind a router, you'll need to open whatever
ports are necessary in your router's configuration and any third-party
firewall you are using. You'll need to do port forwarding on the
router.

3. If you didn't understand any of the above, then are you really sure
you want to run your own FTP server? If you didn't understand #1 and 2,
it is unlikely that you will know how to properly secure your server.
