Adding a link to on the IE toolbar

How can I add links to my most browsed sites on IE's toolbar the one where
you ahve the back and forward button, refresh, stop and the house icon??

You don't. You add links to the Links bar, which is designed for that
purpose.

What I meant was I want to take my favorites links and put them on the
toolbar can this be done as they are not executables???

You can make a button to execute "C:\Program Files\Internet
Explorer\iexplore.exe" then append the web site to the command, much as you
can go to Start...Run...and type in iexplore.exe www.cnn.com, for example.
