Is there a way to maintain the icons of website, next to the URL address
(i.e. the gothic "T" icon for the http://www.nytimes.com instead of the "e"
icon). It appears once after bookmark the site but then reverts back to the
little "e" icon for the site.

Thanks

Favicons are only temporary until cleared from your cache.
To make them permanent:
FavOrg-PCMag: http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,1759,1558477,00.asp

or

The Code Project - FavIconizer:

ok, will this work in IE6 under w2k & XP SP1? and is there a regkey or
policy that will handle this instead. Thank you for your respond.

I use Faviconizer in XP SP2. I have only used Favorg in Win98 and Win
ME. I see no reason why Favorg wouldn't work in XP. Nothing have
changed in the use of favicons.

No, I don't see how a regkey or policy would do anything. Items have
to be deleted from the cache eventually. A regkey or policy won't
change that.
