I use Adaware from Lavasoft detect my spyware.

It comes with an application called Ad-Watch which runs in the background
and monitors tracking cookies.

However, with Ad-Watch enabled IE takes about 20 seconds to open. If I
disable Ad-Watch IE Opens instantly.

The same sort of thing happened with Spy Sweeper.

Any ideas what causes the slow down to IE?

Lavasoft fully supports it's commercial product, such as Ad-Watch.

Lavasoft don't reply and Spysweeper can't find the problem!
