Hi guys need help on this Addressing problem.
In I.E. 6 usually when you just type a URL in the taskbar example,
"www.google.com" it'll append "http://" in from of your address and send you
the page.
But i have this com when you type the address without the http:// in front
I.E. does not append the "http://" in front of your URL and thus throw you
and invalid page.
There must be some config that is affecting this and somewhere in registry
or may a file can i can look at to fix the problem.
ANYONE who know this problem please enlighten me tks.

Check in the Registry under the keys below or follow the procedure.
Make up a file from the lines below. Copy into a file called fix.reg
which should be created in Notepad. Do not retype, copy in case of
errors. The 1st line in the file is the line REGEDIT4
Make sure your mail or news reader does not add any spaces to the end
of a line.
The last line must be blank.
Doubleclick fix.reg
-----copy below this line fix.reg------------
REGEDIT4
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\URL\DefaultPrefix]
@="http://"
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\URL\Prefixes]
"ftp"="ftp://"
"gopher"="gopher://"
"home"="http://"
"mosaic"="http://"
"www"="http:
---- end file above here

Hi Edmund - Download and run:
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/regs_edits/RestoreSearch2.REG to restore
your default Search functionality and reset your prefixes. You'll have to
manually re-select any Search Customizations you may have had, however.
