Web page not loading?

This problem just recently happened on my computer. On a webpage I
freuqnetly use (www.fly.faa.gov/ois), the frame on the left side is not
loading for some reason. It usually has expandable menus, but for some
reason those are not showing up anymore. This literally just happened the
other day--I have not changed any settings on my internet security programs,
I also tired deleting history and temporary internet files. This computer is
new--but the page has been loading correctly on both my old and new computer
until just now. I also know there is not a problem with the webpage, because
it loads correctly on other PC's. Are there any setting changes I should
make?

The left side of the page you referenced contains a JavaScript menu. Try
reinstalling your scripting engines from here:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/downloads/list/webdev.asp (choose the link for
your version of Windows).

Hi there,

Thanks for the help, but installing those scripting engines did not work.
In addition, I also tried removing & reinstalling Java itself. That also did
not help with loading this page Again--the problems loading the left-hand
frame only started a couple of days ago.

Any other suggestions?

What is your screen resolution? Have you tried using Fullscreen mode? (press F11)
FWIW when I do that the scrollbars for the frames are removed. (1024x768)

Also try pressing F6 and tell us if you you see the hached marks for the frames.
In that case you could try a Refresh of just the menu frame. E.g. press Menu-R
(or Shift-F10 or Right-click). You might want to press Menu-P first to verify with the frame's
Property page that you are operating on the menu frame. E.g. that distinction does not
show up well unless the page is in a normal mode window (e.g. via Alt-Space,R).

I've tried refreshing just the left-hand frame, and changing the screen
resolution. That still doesn't work. In addition, I tried typing the URL
for just that frame (http://www.fly.faa.gov/ois/menu_sys.html) into the main
browser window--it still doen't work.

In all instances, I do get a clickable FAA icon at the very top, as well as
the current date. However, the menu that is supposed to come up in the rest
of the window does not appear.

I have noticed an error with another page within this website. If you go to:
http://www.fly.faa.gov/adv/advADB.jsp you will probably see a link to go to
something like the "advisories database selection".

On my compter, sometimes this link displays--sometimes it doesn't. Again,
this is also a new problem for this website.

Be more precise. What do you see when that link doesn't display?

What have you done to check for an explanation for that symptom?
E.g. Select All (Ctrl-a) is often useful for checking against problems
caused by color. Then Ctrl-c and paste into a Notepad window
could let you uncover other rendering quirks which might be hiding
text. Also, it may be necessary to check your Encoding Auto-Select option
if it is not set already. (Alt-V,d,...). Of course if you do a View Source
and it isn't there either then there would be an entirely different explanation.

When the link isn't there, it just doesn't show up. I do not see it when I
try to "View Source" either. THat is also the problem with the frame on the
other page I mentioned. When I select "view source", there is no code for
any of the menu options.

If you mean that it looks as if some specific code has been stripped from
a normal page, that sounds like something that certain misconfigured firewalls
can do.
