[AA Smith]

I'm reading a long book that came on a CD. It displays as a document in IE
6. I need to be able to bookmark it, similar to the way I bookmark pages in
Microsoft Word, but I haven't figured out how to do that. So, I'd very much
appreciate your help on this.

I'm not certain of your setup there, but if it is displayed using IE, you
could remember/write down the first two or three words of the paragraph you
left off at, and when the book comes up again, do a CTRL+F (or click
Edit..Find) to bring up the Find dialog box and use that to get back to that
place.

Does the HTML contain any "anchors"? Then you could make Favorites
out of them even if the file is still on the CD. If the file has been copied to
your local harddrive you can edit it any way you like and insert your own
"anchors" and then make Favorites out of them. Etc.

I suspect that in the latter case Word even has the capability of
making the creation of new "anchors" even easier than say Notepad
but I don't know. If you need more help with this idea I suggest
reposting in a Word newsgroup or somewhere which specializes
in HTML coding.
