Dear Kelly and Bob
I finally had the right idea in order to fix this annoying issue.
It's related to the credential cache in a WindowsXP SP2 machine.
Thinking this way and for fixing the problem, I modified the following
registry key from the default value of "10" to the new value of "1".
Key : HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows
NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon
Name: CachedLogonsCount
Type: REG_SZ
Data: 10 (default), 1 (new)
After two relogon I have a clean and correctly populated cache and the
screensaver is now again working...
