IE 6 (SP2?) distorting images

Just got a new Dell with XP Home. The images in IE are distorted (bigger)
than they should be. This is the same in all resolutions and even if I turn
off the image resize in options.

This happens with jpg and gif file types.

Images look normal in FireFox.

I noticed a hotfix for a similar problem but MS wants money for support or
to get the hotfix.

Guess I'll just use FireFox since they aren't addressing this problem.

Hi,
This is probably the well known Dell / XP / DPI problem.

See:
http://forums.us.dell.com/supportforums/board/message?board.id=insp_video&message.id=79881
SpeedStep's reg file is the easy way to go.

More info at:
820286 - PRB Windows XP Does Not Natively Support High-DPI Screens
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=820286
But, the [UseHR= dword:00000001]
value should be [UseHR= dword:00000000]

Hope this helps,
Don
