When I download this picture...

http://www.decorativefilm.com/confoutsideafter.jpg

when using windows XP and Internet Explorer, it is always distorted in
the same way. If I boot Knoppix (linix) and use Firefox the picture is
always correct. I have tried several computers and a fresh load of XP
and the picture is always distorted with IE. Any Ideas?

Dear dh,

Went to the site with both my IE and a friends Firefox, using windows 98se
on both machines...got the same results...its a "corrupted" file for sure.
The before picture is clean the after picture is not.. used my xp pro from
work (have IE) and it came up corrupted as well. I assume the glich in the
picture at its midpoint is what you are referring to as 'distorted'?

That is correct, the glitch at the midpoint. However the source
picture is not corrupted. when viewed using Linux and Firefox it
displays fine. Anyone have a win 98 or Me computer to try?

Hi,
I checked it with WinME and IE6, Firefox & Mozilla 1.3 (an oldie, but a
goodie) It was messed up (technical term) in all three.

I also downloaded it using "Save Target." When opened with IrfanView it was
still messed up.

I've opened it on IE 6/XP SP-2, MS Paint, SnagIt 7, and Windows Picture and
Fax viewer and it's messed up, too - just to confirm Don's and your results.
Just tried to open it in QuickTime's picture viewer and it said it couldn't
open the file because it's corrupted. Same w/ QuickTime Player itself -
said compressor found the image data was corrupted. Interesting indeed.
