IE6 never connects to web site. Blank screen with no errors

My daughters IE6 quit working yesterday. All I get is a blank page that is
trying to load with 3 progress bars. The page never errors out and continues
to grind away to no avail. I can ipconfig /release/renew and get a response.
I can see the other PCs on the network. I cannot ping any site, however. I
ran virus scan, spyware, and checked obvious registry startup areas as well
as checked for unusual processes running and didn't see anything suspicious.
Any ideas what might be happening here?
Thanks in advance.

Mine has been doing the same thing for the past two days.....except that the
web page times out after a while and says the page could not be displayed.

I talked with RoadRunner DSL and they recommended I swap out the modem but a
System Restore back to Monday cleared it up....for now.

I have recently replaced the cable modem. All of my other PCs connect fine
to the internet.
