I run Windows XP is Bellsouth.net DSL as ISP. I DO NOT USE OUTLOOK EXPRESS. I
am set up with Bellsouth using Web mail.
I too am getting "Could not perform operation because the default mail
client is not properly installed.
Any suggestions?

What is *your* default email client, if it's not OE?

I went to your link and followed the second directions by looking at the
register. There is already a URL Protocol REG_SZ listed. I use Web Mail
via Bellsouth.net. I don't like the way Outlook Express downloads mail into
my computer before I have had a chance to look at it. The way I view email
now is very similar to the way I used to view my mail on AOL. I never like
Outlook Express.

URL:MailTo Protocol will point to your default, installed Mail Client (e.g.,
Outlook, Outlook Express, Hotmail, Yahoo, Eudora, etc.). To have MailTo
options invoke your Bell South web-based account, contact Bell South for
instructions on making it your default Mail Client.
