I'm becoming increasingly frustrated wuith the remote desktop function. I
simply CAN NOT connect to anyone's computer...EVER.
I've tried everything, from turning off both Norton firewalls, one on each
end and still fail to connect. I've tried connecting by using a messenger
contact as well as sending an email invite...nothing seems to work
PLEASE HELP
Please post the steps you have taken so far.......

Remote Desktop or Remote Assistance?
- If any machine is behind a router, make sure it is configured to forward
port 3389 to the destination machine's internal IP address.
- Make sure the intended target has this function available and enabled in
the control panel/system/remote tab.
- For RD, it sometimes helps to have the user account already logged in
before attempting.
- Make sure SP2 is installed as the older firewall version will cause
issues.

1. I ensure that both I and my sister who lives several blocks away have our
Norton firewalls disabled to make sure there is no interference.
2. My sister goes to 'Help & Support' and selects 'Invite a friend to
connect to your computer with Remote Assistance'
3. My sister selects 'Invite someone to help you'
4. She selects my Messenger and sends me an invitation.
5. I receive the invitation and when I accept it, I get a dialog box that
reads 'Remote Assistance Loading' and a second dialog box that says 'REmote
Assistance failed'
Any ideas?
