Some sites still are blocked from access via IE6. I recently cleaned off a
spyware program that fouled up my computer. It seems that nearly everything
is back working, but some sites remain blocked that I used to be able to
access (most blocked sites are related to scanning and spyware removal). Can
you adivse me on what I can try to un-block those sites? I tried deleting
temp files. Thanks,

Hi,
These are probably being blocked by a HOSTS file. Some malware programs add
entries to the HOSTS file.

To check the HOSTS file in Windows XP...
Make sure that Windows is showing hidden files and is
not hiding file extensions for known file types then check for a HOSTS file
at [C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\etc] Open the HOSTS file with notepad. If
there are entries you wish to disable, you can put the pound sign (#) in
front an entry to disable it. Then File> Save. Or you can rename the HOSTS
file to HOSTS.OLD to disable it.
More on the HOSTS file at http://www.accs-net.com/hosts/ and
http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/hosts.htm

In Win 9x, the file will be at [C:\Windows]
In Win 2K, at [C:\WINNT\System32\Drivers\etc]

Also, were you thorough enough in removing malware? You might want to go to
http://www.aumha.org/a/quickfix.htm Work through the preliminary cleaning
steps then post a HijackThis log to the forum at
http://forum.aumha.org/viewforum.php?f=30 Please read the message at
http://forum.aumha.org/viewtopic.php?t=4075 before posting a HijackThis log.
Be patient. It's a busy forum at times.
