Hi,
There are other possible solutions at
http://inetexplorer.mvps.org/answers.htm#dns and
http://inetexplorer.mvps.org/answers_5.htm#connect

Try disabling third-party security programs. One of them might be causing
this.

A repair/reinstall of IE may help:

Whether or not the Winsock repair tool(s) work...
You probably have a malware problem. Try CWShredder, Ad-aware, Spybot and
the
other programs listed and explained at
http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/unwanted.htm Also note the security tips on that
page.

Additional information at:
The Parasite Fight http://www.aumha.org/a/quickfix.htm
More security tips at http://www.aumha.org/a/parasite.htm

Hope this helps,
