No video on TV

Whereas I can watch video with Windows Media player 10 on my computer, when I
use the s-video to watch the video on TV, the video is not displayed on the
TV: the Windows Media player frame is displayed on TV but there is a black
rectangle where the movie should be displayed.

nb: This occurs since I have installed SP2 (and updates), since the advanced
setting in the Display Properties can not be modified as in the SP1 (eg for
displaying on TV ) to my knowlegde.
Please how can I get video diplay on TV from my computor?
Thank you very much.

You do not give very much information in order to help, but you must first
enable the TV as the primary monitor and then you must enable overlay output
in order to view the video.

Your problem with not being able to adjust the vid display indicates you
should probably download and install the latest manufacturer driver. Sounds
like your using the Microsoft supplied vid drivers which are lame.

Thank you Bobby,

My laptop has a Radeon IGP 320M card. I will update the driver directly from
the manufacturer (ATI) and I will try to find out how to overlay output.
I will keep you inform.

With the ATI's that I have worked with, the setting is under the ATI Control
Center. Use it to identify the monitor (it should appear as a "TV".
Designate that as the primary display. There may be an F key that will work
with the "Fn" key to do this for you automatically. Once you have the
desktop displayed properly on the TV screen, then go to "Enable Overlay" or
something like that. Then you see the videos just fine.

FWIW, there may be an online tutorial on the manufacturers website that will
show you how to do this.

If it's a notebook, look at the website of the notebook manufacturer ONLY.
NOT ATI's website.
