Many of my photos which were down loaded to my pictures are now not able to
be previewed or opened. The title of the photo is there but nothing is
opening or previewing. IS there any way to recover them?

Some files...but not all? Are they all in the same
format?

What happens when you try to view the images?
Do you receive an error? Have the names of the
image files changed in any way?

Have you tried opening the files in an editing
program?

Maybe the following article will be useful:

(326675) "No Preview Available" and "File
Format Is Not Supported" Error Messages

The files are all JPEG. I tried to open with Adobe Photo SHop and get the
message "could not open because JPEG marker segment lenght to short (the file
may be truncated or incomplete)" If I click on the icon where the picture
should be i get no preview available

Sounds like your files may be corrupted. I've
seen the "JPEG marker segment length too
short" error before but cannot recall seeing
a satisfactory solution. It may be worth a
try searching on Google and Google Groups.

Also, the following article may be useful:

If you would like to send one of the files to
the following address, I'll see if I can view it:
