It seems that "Paint" vanished from my computer. I now cannot edit my photos.
Any help would be appreciated.

The following steps will uninstall/reinstall MS Paint:
You can remove MS Paint if you go to...
Add-Remove Programs / Add-Remove Windows Components...
Go to...Accessories and Utilities (details button) /
Accessories ) details button)...Uncheck...Paint...
OK / OK / Next...Paint will be removed.
Reverse the process to reinstall it.
(your WinXP disk will be required)
