No Sound At ALLL. Plz Help!!!

My computer crashed and a buddy came over and reinstalled all my programs for
me. Everything works great but there is no sound AT ALL!
I downloaded the drivers and stuff from HP Website, but that didn't seem to
work, unless i didn't use it right I don't know.
Can someone please help me this sux!

Thnx for getting back. I went to both sites and followed the steps and
neither of them did anything. I still have the same problem. Any other advice?

Are you getting any system sounds like beeps? Your soundcard drivers are
probably not installed. Check your utility disks or other disks that came
with
the PC when you purchased it. The drivers are probably on them. Also,
check here: Start>Control Panel>System>Hardware tab>Device Manager
Check under Sounds, etc. see if there is a yellow question mark or anything
indicating that the soundcard is the problem.
