[Lethe]

I had this problem amongst others in wmp.

Info I found on the web and cured this problem was:

Start > Control Panel > Performance and Maintenance > System > System
Properties pops up, Click Hardware Tab > Device Manager Button > click DVD/CD
ROM drives tag to drop contents, click on your driver, drop menu appears >
then click Uninstall. ( I tried Update also, but didn't work)

Reboot, the pc then locates the drive.

It worked for me,
