Hello,
I just started using the messenger ... & every time I put my sons &
brothers
name on my list .... then log out & back in the names are gone ....I've
reinstalled the program three times & it still does it ... any ideas to
why??
I do have service pack 2 installed & the version of messenger is 4.7.3001.

The latest version of MSN Messenger is 7.0.0816

The latest version of Windows Messenger is 5.1.0680

Maybe an upgrade will help.

You may want to update your windows messenger to the latest version that has
been released. (Windows Messenger 5.1)

Other steps you should take...

Goto Tools, Options within Windows Messenger, and see if your son and
brother's contacts are on "My Allow List". Also see if they have added you
to "Which people have added me to their contact lists?" by hitting the View
button. If they are listed there, they are on your list, if they aren't,
then they aren't on your list.
