Audio w/o video and vice versa

I purchased a quickcam messenger with the built in mic. Drivers are up
to date. I have msn messenger 7 and I can have an audio conversation
with the built in mic fine. I can show myself in the webcam fine. But
when I want to have video conversation with both video and audio
together I got a black screen displaying my webcam.
I have discovered that if I disable the built in mic through the
audio/video tuning wizard I then can use my webcam, obviously without
audio.
I have windows xp sp2.
Does anyone else have this problem and what is the solution?

Thanks in advance.

Go to Circuit City or Office Depot and purchase a mic approx $15.00 and plug
it into the sound card and use that. Then run the Wizard and select that
mic and all should be fine.
