TCP/IP filtering

The following is for educational purposes.

Everything works fine with TCP/IP Filtering disabled.

My aim is to configure the computer to browse web sites on port 80 only and
resolve DNS names and ping.

When I enable TCP/IP filtering, things don't work as expected.
Example:

TCP Filtering (enabled)
Permit Only (TCP ports): 53, 80
Permit Only (UDP ports): 53
Permit Only (protocols): 1, 6, 17 (was unable to add Protocol 0)

I got the numbers from the text files in c:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc

After restarting the computer, I am unable to ping a host on the Internet
using its DNS name. I cannot resolve DNS names at this stage.
What am I doing wrong?
