Installation Failed

I am trying to upgrade from Me to XP home and I could not finish the install
because of the following: C:\$WIN_NT$~LS\i386\asms.
Error Message: A component's file does not match the verification
information present in the component manifest.
Earlier in the install it would not load some .DLL files and I chose to skip
rather than abort the install.
As an aside the computer did not function real well in Me. That is why I was
trying to upgrade.

Hi Mike

What type of XP CD do you have and where did you purchase it.

Trying to upgrade a malfunctioning ME installation to XP will bring all
those ME problems with it + some more. Best idea would have be to clean up
the ME installation or 'Clean' install XP. Please see if the following link
