I've put a new hard drive into an Acer machine. When I run the setup for
Windows XP Home off the cd, the installation says it "setup can't access his
disk". When i press a key I then get a blue screen saying "STOP 0x0000008E"
and "SETUPDD.SYS".
Have tried with XP PRO and HOME and still the same thing.
Any Ideas

This is sometimes linked to incompatable hardware.

Hi
For what its worth the only 3 times i have seen the setupdd.sys errors
during installation the cause has been a bad ram module
try installing with a KNOWN GOOD stick of ram
