I have just installed windows xp pro on 6.05 hard drive on a pentium II. It
is taking up 3.77. Is that correct? I did a full install and not an upgrade.

Hi

A full install of XP Pro could take up that amount of disk space. How RAM
have you on board?

That's rhetorical -- Never had anyone complain about having "Too Much RAM"

Seriously though, put as much ram as you can into any computer. RAM is
relatively cheap [ www.crucial.com ] and it boosts performance like you
wouldn't believe.

When you don't have enough RAM, windows uses a Paging file (AKA Virtual
Memory), which consumes HDD space (System
Properties->Advanced->Performance->Advanced->Virtual Memory will show the
current Pagefile settings and Status)
