I am upgrading Win98 to Win XP Home. It will not let me. The installation is
blocked because it says that I have Microsoft Fax (Microsoft Shared Fax
Client) installed and I need to remove it before I can continue. The problem
is that I do not have it installed, I have looked everywhere inmy computer
where it can be and I cannot find it. I followed all trouble shooting help
to locate it and cannot
find it anywhere it is suggested.

Any ideas?

Also, I have a copy of XP Professional, I can install that one, however, I
cannot use it because it is already asign to another computer. I just wanted
to check if it was a problem with that version as well, and it is not, only
with XP Home.

Any ideas?

Hi,
I just had the same problem and tried this using other peoples suggestions.

- Start, Folder options, then show hidden files and folders (in View tab, I
think).
- Start, Find, then type fxsclnt, then search.
- Delete both files that appear.
That should work.
Also, keep looking around this forum cos there's a few other options too.
