I am upgrading from Windows 2K Pro to XP Pro SP2 and getting the error
message can't find viaide.sys during the install. This is the VIA Bus Master
IDE Controller. I searched and found a viaide.s_ file on the XP install disk
but when I point the location it comes up with an error message that the
driver has not been signed by Microsoft logo and recommends not to continue.
Do I need to install this driver from somewhere else and where can I get a
copy from? My system is a AMD Athlon 2000+ with Radeon video.

Go along with the install with the non-logo driver. Once you've
installed, go to Windows Update and perform a full scan. If there is a
VIA driver that has passed Logo Testing, you'll get it there.
