Windows want finish loading

Hello all,
I just moved my computer and after unloading and trying to restart the
computer just stops. All I see on the screen is the black Windows XP startup
screen with the blue bars scrolling from left to right. I let it run for a
few days (3) and it never gets past this screen. Is there anything I can do
to fix this problem? Is it too late to make a backup of the data and
reinstall after I reinstall XP? This is my video production computer and I
have not backed up anything.
I have a custom made 2.4GHz 1G Ram 2-120G HDs operating with XP Prof.
Can it be saved? Help please.

Thanks for the link, but this did not solve my problem. When I installed the
XP-CD the computer showed "starting windows" and just stayed there-stuck. I
rebooted after waiting 2 hours and tried to enter safe mode. The screen
scrolled throught some commands and then locked up again on "iomdisk.sys". I
shut the computer off and walked away. Any words of advice?

I know this is heracy on an MS board, but you could use a Knoppix or
Suse Live CD to get access to the HDD for backups of files.
