I have the windows xp service pack 2 files on my computer that i got from a
friend, since I have a dial-up connection.When I try to install it,my dial-up
connection comes up trying to install the service pack 2 patches from the
windows update website. When i connect it does not work,is there a way i can
bypass this without having to download it?

Did your friend give you the entire SP-2?
Or you may have a bad copy.
Order SP-2 on CD, Step 1 on this link:
