Has anyone tried removing service pack 2 and going back to service pack 1? I
assume I can just uninstall but I don't want to ruin the machine as it has
custom apps installed (in a foreign language no less). One of my apps is
misbehaving and the only unique thing about this machine is that it has sp2.

Uninstalling SP-2 through Add/Remove Programs USUALLY works.
But there is always a possibility of problems so be sure to have back-ups of
all important data.

Before you uninstall SP-2, check with the manufacturer of the program for
SP-2 issues.
There may be a better fix than uninstalling SP-2.

They actually suggest unchecking the support for east asian languages in
regional options but I cannot because that is greyed out. Even when logged
in under administrator.
