For some reason we can't seem to upgrade from Home to Pro. Is there something
we don't know?

Hi

What if any error messages are you seeing? You may be trying to upgrade
Home Edition SP2 with an older version XP Pro CD.

I believe that is the case, do I need to uninstall the services packs on Home
edition?

Heidi;
If that is the case, what you are doing is seen as a downgrade since you are
going from SP-2 to SP-1 or no Service Pack.

You have a few options:
1. Uninstall the Service Pack in Add/Remove Programs so Home is the same
Service Pack or lower than Pro.
2. Slipstream SP-2 to the Windows XP Pro:

Another possibility can be is Windows XP Pro is OEM.
OEM is designed for installation on a new computer and is not normally
capable of performing an upgrade.
