Multiboot screw-up

I recently bought a computer from a co-worker. He had backed up any files he
needed from this thing before selling it but basically left the system "as
is". Apparently it came with Windows XP home edition pre-installed, but for
whatever reason, there is also a copy of XP Professional edition installed on
the same drive (same partitiion, just different folder "WINPRO"). It prompts
which version to boot when I turn the computer on.

Is there any way besides formatting the hard drive to remove the copy of XP
Professional from this system? I can't find documentation on this sort of
issue anywhere.

Thanks in advance,
Erik Taylor
