Getting to My desktop! Help!!!

I can't seem to get to my desktop. It keeps going to the black screen where
it asks me if I want to start it in Safe Mode, Networking, Dos, or normal.
If I pick any of them it keeps going back to the same thing over and over
again. My computer is a Sony Vaio, with Windows XP already installed. So I
don't have the CD-Rom for Windows XP, I only have the 6 boot disks. I would
like to try and get this solved as quickly as possible so I don't have to
wait 4 weeks to get my Cd's.

Thanks,

Jetro

You can boot into Recovery Console using 6 diskettes.

I have tried that. At the end of the 6th disk it tells me to load XP disk
into CD drive. I don't have the XP CD. I never made a back-up, (which was
dumb on my part). This computer came with XP and I thought I had the CD's
until I talked to a customer Service Rep. from Sony. Of course I was out of
my warranty so they can't help just send me the CD's which will take 4-6
weeks. Any other suggestions?? Would highly appreciate it!!
Thanks
