[Pendrive (USB 1.1) vs. LAPTOP (USB 2.0)]

I have just purchaged a Acer 3002 Laptop. Windows XP professional is
installed. Laptop has 3 USB 2.0 ports. I want to use my annyah PENDRIVE,
which is USB 1.1 compliant only. When I plug-in the Pendrive, my system does
not sense it. Is there any configuration missing in my OS? How can I use my
Pendrive (USB 1.1) with Laptop (USB 2.0)? Please help me.

USB2 is both forward and backward compatible with USB1. Most probably, the
device can't be plugged till the end. Modern laptops have too many curves
what damages the functionality.
