If SP2 was part of the original installation media that installed Windows
XP - you would have to format and install with other media to eliminate SP2.

Depends on what version of XP you used to install XP. If SP2 was included on
the install media [this includes slipstreamed versions], you cannot remove
it and will need to clean install.
If SP2 was added after install, look in the Add/Remove console to remove it.
If it was added after XP was installed and you did not choose to save the
backup files, you cannot remove it and will need to clean install.
Why do you need to remove it? Have you checked for updates if it is a
hardware or software problem.

Post back your problem.
